Archive stores and restores testimonies and information
"The archive is pure potential, a possible source of information, nothing more. It is dependent on others to actualize and realize this potential, to transform it from the status of virtual information to that of palpable objects that can be transmitted and received by future individuals who, in witnessing the witnesses, will themselves learn and know and remember. The archive, then, has a double function: to store testimonies as virtual information and to restore them as communicated and re-embodied knowledge".
